If you are here, one of these is probably true
Sometimes that is true. Often it is not. A section of failed flashing or two dozen wind-lifted shingles is a repair, not a replacement, and we will show you the photographs that prove which one you are looking at.
Water rarely enters where the stain appears — it runs along decking and rafters first. A patch placed over the symptom instead of the entry point was always going to fail in the next hard rain.
New Braunfels grew faster than almost anywhere in the country through the 2010s. Thousands of roofs went on within a few years of each other, so they reach the end of their life together — and the door-knocking follows.
The historic core needs detail work that a crew set up for new subdivision roofs is not equipped to do. Matching a historic profile is a different job from covering a tract home.
New Braunfels requires a permit to repair, alter or replace a roof, submitted through the City’s online portal. An unpermitted re-roof is a problem that surfaces later, usually at resale.
Low-slope porch and patio tie-ins get shingled below the pitch shingles are rated for. They leak, they get patched, they leak again — the fix is a different system, not more sealant.
We inspect before we quote. We tell you what we actually find, repair what needs repairing, and say so plainly when the roof is fine — even though that is the visit we do not get paid for.

Hands down the best ever service I have ever experienced with a San Antonio business! Mike was excellent! Mike explained the process of repair on my roof, followed up with an email addressing who would do the repairs and 3 days later a technician showed up!

Hail country
New Braunfels is on the far North Side, where spring supercells regularly clip the ridge lines. The 12 April 2016 hailstorm — the costliest in Texas history at roughly $1.4 billion, with stones to four and a half inches — reshaped the roofing picture across the whole metro, and this part of town has taken repeated smaller events since, including the hail that came through with the April 2024 cold front. Repeated moderate hail does not always break a shingle outright; it bruises the mat and shortens the life of the roof quietly.

Repair & leaks
Our process
Four steps, the same way every time — so you always know what happens next.
STEP 1
We get on the roof — not just the driveway — photograph what we find and trace the leak back to where water is actually getting in.
→ A free inspection and a straight answer
STEP 2
A written quote for what needs repairing, and a plain statement of what does not. If the roof has years left, we say so.
→ Permit filed through the City’s online portal
STEP 3
Most repairs are a single day. Materials are matched to the existing roof so the repair does not announce itself from the street.
→ Cleaned up and magnet-swept before we leave
STEP 4
Photographs of the finished work, the warranty in writing, and a walk of the repair with you before we leave.
→ We walk the finished roof with you
On the ground
Every part of this metro has its own failure pattern. These are the ones that come up again and again on this side of town.
Whole subdivisions built within a few years of each other, aging out of their roofs together
Historic Gruene and downtown homes needing detail work no production crew is set up for
Storm roofs installed fast during the growth boom, some of them very badly
Low-slope porch and patio tie-ins that were shingled when they should have been a membrane
New Braunfels spent the 2010s among the fastest-growing cities in the country. Tens of thousands of roofs went on within a few years of each other, which means they are also aging out within a few years of each other — your neighbour’s new roof is not a coincidence.
Serving New Braunfels
New Braunfels straddles Comal and Guadalupe counties, and we work across ZIP codes 78130, 78132. Our crews are in New Braunfels regularly — we are a San Antonio company, not an out-of-state outfit that showed up after the last hail event.
New Braunfels spent the 2010s among the fastest-growing cities in the country, which left it with an unusual split — historic Gruene and downtown homes that need careful detail work, and tens of thousands of subdivision roofs all installed within a few years of each other and now ageing out together.
We regularly work in Gruene, Vintage Oaks, Havenwood, Veramendi, Meyer Ranch, Solms and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Permits & inspections
New Braunfels requires a permit to repair, alter or replace a roof, and roofing is one of the residential permit types submitted through the City’s Online Permit Portal. The City’s ordinance language covers any work to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move or demolish a structure, which includes a re-roof.

We pull the permit and schedule the inspections as part of the job — you do not need to deal with the city.
Before you call anyone
It depends on the age of the system and how localized the failure is. A roof with most of its life left and one failed area is worth repairing. A roof at the end of its service life with damage in several places is money spent twice. We tell you which one you have, in writing, before you decide.

We match the existing shingle line and color as closely as the manufacturer still produces it. On an older roof, weathering means a repair is usually visible up close and rarely visible from the street. We will tell you beforehand which of those to expect.
Most New Braunfels inspections are booked within 48 hours. Emergency and storm response is available 24/7 — if water is actively coming into the house, call (210) 896-3209 rather than filling in the form.
Yes. We document every impact point with photographs, meet your adjuster on the roof, and scope the repair or replacement to what the claim actually covers. Storm work is a large part of what we do in this market.
At Bondoc Roofing, we only hire fully trained, licensed, and insured roofing contractors, so you can rest assured that your roof repairs are being handled by experts. Our roofing technicians will arrive on time, ready to assess your roof, and plan on working on it as soon as possible.
Many neighbourhoods here have architectural rules covering shingle colour and material, and some require approval before work starts. We will tell you whether yours does and work to the approved colour list — it is a common reason a roof has to be redone at the contractor’s expense.
Texas policies generally give you a limited window from the date of loss, and the exact deadline is in your policy — not something a roofer should guess at. The practical advice is not to wait: the longer the gap between the storm and the inspection, the harder the claim is to substantiate.
Roofing runs year-round here. The busiest stretch is the weeks after a spring hail event, when every crew in the metro is booked and out-of-state crews arrive. Late autumn and winter usually mean shorter lead times and the same workmanship.

No obligation, no pressure, and no push toward a replacement you do not need. If a repair is the right call, that is what we will quote.
